BTS and Coldplay surprised their fans today with posts on social media about their song “My Universe”. A colab single by both bands which will be released this September 24. The move by both groups will definitely be one of the most memorable ones in pop music history. But not only because of their beautiful music, but also by its great cause. Coldplay has partnered with One Tree Planted, a non-profit organization advocating for global reforestation, to which proceeds from the sales of their album will be granted to the organization to help plant trees.

Supporters can pre-order their cd and other merchandise to help with the cause. For every cd, cassette and vinyl purchased on the Coldplay store, the band has pledged to plant and sustain one tree.

This isn’t the first time the two bands have been linked. A few months ago, BTS has performed Coldplay’s “Fix You” at MTV Unplugged. The show is known for inviting the biggest artists of its time since its debut in 1989.

“Music of the Spheres” will be produced by Max Martin who also co-wrote the band’s single “Higher Power” for the same album. For those who doesn’t know who Max Martin is, he’s a songwriter and record producer who has worked with numerous A-list pop stars and bands. Such as Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears, Usher, Katy Perry, and Taylor Swift to name a few.
